TRUMP ATTACKS GOVERNOR COOPER OVER SHUTDOWN: President Donald Trump visited North Carolina and spoke to a crowd at Fayetteville Regional Airport on Saturday evening. He talked about the state’s coronavirus restrictions and a vaccine. “I hate to say, your governor’s got you shut down,” Trump said. “It doesn’t look good here. I think your governor has to let this state open.” He also said he would “deliver a safe and effective vaccine” for COVID-19 this year. At least 1,000 people were in the tightly-packed crowd. Seats were “crammed together” and less than half of the people there were wearing masks, The News & Observer reports. Attendees reportedly had their temperatures checked and were encouraged to wear masks. Some of those behind Trump on the stage were seen wearing their masks incorrectly.

FROM 750 MILES AWAY, HURRICANE TEDDY FLOODS OUTER BANKS ROADS: Portions of the primary road linking North Carolina’s Outer Banks barrier islands to the mainland were closed on Sunday due to coastal flooding from high tides and Hurricane Teddy. Traffic on North Carolina Highway 12 was halted on long stretches on Hatteras and Ocracoke islands, the Department of Transportation reported. On Hatteras Island, the road was closed from Rodanthe north to the Basnight Bridge due to standing water. N.C. 12 also was closed on Ocracoke just south of the Ocracoke Ferry dock to just north of the Pony Pen beach area, according to DOT. Both were expected to reopen later Sunday, according to DOT. Hurricane Teddy was several hundred miles off in the Atlantic, but the system was creating rough surf and dangerous rip currents. Areas along the Dare County coastline could see water that’s from 2 to 4 feet above ground level and up to 2 feet above in Currituck County and in Virginia Beach. This elevates the threat of coastline property damage, the weather service said.

TWO-FACED TILLIS STRIKES AGAIN, SAYS TRUMP SHOULD REPLACE GINSBURG: U.S. Sen. Thom Tillis says he wants the new Supreme Court vacancy filled before the Nov. 3 election. Tillis, a Republican from North Carolina who is facing a difficult re-election campaign, said Saturday that he will support President Donald Trump’s nominee to replace the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg on the U.S. Supreme Court. Ginsburg, a hero to Democrats and a consistent liberal vote, died Friday at 87. Trump said Saturday it is the Republicans’ “obligation” to fill the seat “without delay.” Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Friday there would be a vote on a Trump nominee. In 2016, Tillis did not support allowing President Barack Obama to fill a Supreme Court vacancy when Justice Antonin Scalia died in February. Obama’s nominee, Merrick Garland, never got a hearing in the GOP-controlled Senate. “There is a clear choice on the future of the Supreme Court between the well-qualified and conservative jurist President Trump will nominate and I will support, and the liberal activist Joe Biden will nominate and Cal Cunningham will support, who will legislate radical, left-wing policies from the bench.”

MURKOWSKI AND COLLINS (SEEM TO BE) OPPOSED TO SUPREME COURT NOMINATION PRIOR TO ELECTION: President Trump said Saturday that he expects to announce his nominee to replace Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg this week, putting him on track to announce his decision before the first presidential debate with Joe Biden on Sept. 29. He said he intends to pick a woman for the seat. A growing number of Republicans say they will support the push by the White House and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) to vote quickly on Trump’s nominee rather than waiting until the next president takes office. But Sen. Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) — one of several closely watched Republican senators who could play a crucial role in a vote — said Sunday that she does not support filling Ginsburg’s seat before the November presidential election. Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) said Saturday that whoever is elected in November should nominate Ginsburg’s replacement. The Senate minority leader had strong words Sunday for Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who has called for a swift vote on Trump’s nominee. “If you want to get back at Mitch McConnell’s blatant, nasty hypocrisy, call your senator and tell them not to listen … not to be afraid of Mitch McConnell,” Schumer said.

BIG BANKS EXPOSED FOR ALLOWING TRILLIONS IN MONEY LAUNDERING FROM CRIMINAL ENTERPRISES: A cache of thousands of reports that major banks filed with federal regulators shows that they helped suspected terrorists, drug dealers and corrupt foreign officials move trillions of dollars around the world, despite the banks’ concerns about the suspicious nature of the transactions. The documents, known as suspicious activity reports, were obtained by BuzzFeed News and shared with a worldwide consortium of journalists. The more than 2,100 suspicious activity reports, filed by major U.S. and international banks, relate to more than $2 trillion of transactions between 1999 and 2017. Banks are required to file the reports with the U.S. Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, or FinCEN, about transactions that they believe could be part of a money laundering scheme, fraud or other illegal activity. BuzzFeed obtained suspicious activity reports filed by the largest U.S. lenders — including JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup and Bank of America — and major international institutions like Deutsche Bank, HSBC and Standard Chartered. Many of those banks have been repeatedly penalized by U.S. and other authorities for their roles in money laundering. In one suspicious activity report obtained by BuzzFeed, Bank of America officials in early 2016 warned the federal government about their serious concerns about how Deutsche Bank was failing to detect and prevent money laundering. Deutsche Bank has been among the world’s most heavily penalized banks, in part for its work laundering money for wealthy Russians. More on that Trump/Deutche Bank connection

Statement from the man who recovered his father's papers after his suicide:

The Russian state bank VTB underwrote loans to Donald Trump via Deutsche Bank. Over the course of Trump’s relationship with DB, an inordinate amount of questionable, mismanaged & risky loans approved by Deutsche Bank to Trump required his Personal Guarantee which, over time, also lost its value.

Trump’s team at DB sought out creative ways to circumvent the varied protections DB’s compliance team institutionally implemented, & whether by happenstance or by design Trump’s loans became underwritten by Russia’s own VTB.

I informed the FBI of this in 2019.

That should quell any "wondering" about whether Putin has actually exerted influence over Trump. He's been bought and paid for.
