Connecticut Senate Results

I won't put this on the front page, but I do have the urge to share. With 4% of the precincts reporting in...

Lamont 60% 6,814
Lieberman 40% 4,586

This is cracking me up. Almost every site covering this is stalling because of the high traffic - even sites used to the traffic. It doesn't bode well for information exchange in November. Methinks some folks will need to pay for extra bandwidth come fall.

Some concession speech...,0,6578875.story?coll=hc-headlines-home

Lieberman told supporters that he'd called Lamont to congratulate him; then he took a few swipes at his rival.

"Of course I am disappointed by the results, but I am not discouraged," Lieberman said..

"The old politics of partisan polarization won today," Lieberman said. "For the sake of our state, our country and my party, I cannot and will not let that result stand."

"Tomorrow morning our campaign will file the necessary petitions … so that we can continue this campaign for a new politics of unity and purpose."

Lieberman spokeswoman Marion Steinfels said that lawyer Daniel Papermaster will file the senator's petitions for an independent run at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Secretary of the State's office in Hartford.

Ever get the feeling this is all about Joe? He doesn't give a crap about his party. He is gonna run as an indy, and now we get to see 3 more months of coverage of this one race. 3 more months of netroots $$ flowing to Connecticut to Lamont instead of to great candidates all across the country, including our own Larry Kissell, Heath Shuler, and Brad Miller.

Joe is gonna stand in the way of the Democratic tidal wave - damn him.

yeah, i heard part of his

yeah, i heard part of his concession speech on npr a few minutes ago, accusing lamont of engaging in polarization...
