Ted Budd will not commit to honoring election results

tedbuddgun.jpg

Welcome to the new normal for the GOP:

“Faith in election integrity is a huge piece of what makes democracy work,” said Paige Alexander, who leads the Atlanta-based Carter Center, a nonpartisan group founded by former president Jimmy Carter that promotes freedom and human rights around the globe.

The organization has monitored elections in foreign nations for many years, often asking candidates to sign pledges that they will accept the certified result of a free and fair contest. With the proliferation of false claims about the 2020 election, Alexander said, the center’s leadership agreed that it was time to circulate a similar pledge among candidates in the United States as well. The center is focusing on five battleground states this year — Arizona, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina and Michigan — but its pledge welcomes any candidate, former elected official or organization to sign.

Of course Cheri Beasley said she would accept the results, and so did nut-jobs Herschel Walker and Mehmet Oz. But Tedd Budd apparently doesn't want to get "pinned down" promising to honor the will of the voters. But even if he said he would honor the results, he simply can't be trusted. He's notorious for taking credit for things he tried to block:

Americans for Prosperity Thinks Gun Store Owner Ted Budd is (insert adjective here)

Modern political campaigns have been inundated with a large number of connected dark money groups, thanks to Citizens United. A result of this proliferation of laundered money propaganda machines is that they’ve become “compartmentalized”, flooding us with campaign ads for and against candidates, with each group having its own little specialty.

A couple of weeks ago, the Koch network’s Art Pope affiliate, the John Locke Foundation, held a brainstorming session to fight Gun Store Owner Ted “I Never Met a Trump Attempted Coup I Didn’t Like” Budd’s declining poll numbers. Their internal polling was showing the race tied, with Cheri Beasley leading with seniors and college-educated voters and Budd under-performing on a generic ballot.

Koch Network's Americans for Prosperity to the rescue!

What’s in Ted Budd’s basket?

No, I’m not talking about that kind of basket. Get your mind out of the gutter.

If you’re on YouTube or other streaming services and live in NC, you’ve no doubt been inundated with this annoying ad from Rep. Gun Store Owner Ted “I Have My Nose So Far Up Trump’s Wazoo, I Can See Classified Documents” Budd.

More Blood

The gall of this guy is breathtaking. Not only is he a traitor who voted with Trump to deny President Biden his legitimate election, he also voted against women having the right to control their bodies AND children having the right to not get shot by assault weapons, which he happens to sell for a living. North Carolina voters: step up and stop this guy from getting anywhere near the US Senate.

There's only one way to do that: Vote blue from the top of the ballot to the bottom of the ballot. Don't even THINK of voting for a Republican. Our country hangs in the balance.

On the Record: Ted Budd's extremist votes in Congress

tedbuddgun.jpg

He's about as moderate as a Tasmanian Devil:

When a mob of President Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol building on Wednesday, they forced an emergency recess in the Congressional proceedings to officially certify the results of the 2020 presidential election. When the Senate reconvened at 8 p.m., and the House of Representatives an hour later, the proceedings — including the objection debates — continued, although some lawmakers who had previously planned to vote with the objectors stood down following the occupation of the Capitol. Plans to challenge a number of states after Arizona were scrapped, as well — but one other objection, to Pennsylvania’s results, also advanced to a vote.

How about those "states' rights," y'all? No? Of course not, if they happen to conflict with what Donald Trump wants. Budd may have been groomed and propelled into office by Club For Growth, but he's been a Trump lapdog since he oozed into DC. The above proves that he doesn't care about voters or preserving democracy, but how does he feel about other things? Like hungry babies?:

Budd, Tillis, and Burr vote against veterans exposed to toxins

And their actions speak volumes:

Sens. Thom Tillis and Richard Burr voted Thursday against the bill they helped craft that would benefit veterans from Camp Lejeune who were exposed to toxic chemicals in the base’s water for nearly three decades. A version of this bill did pass the House 256-174 in March, with mixed results from North Carolina’s 13 representatives. Reps. David Rouzer, Patrick McHenry, Madison Cawthorn, Dan Bishop, Ted Budd and Virginia Foxx, all Republicans, voted against the bill.

The Honoring our PACT Act of 2021 would provide health care through the Department of Veteran Affairs to veterans exposed to toxic substances, ensures veterans aren’t forced to prove their exposure before receiving care and makes improvements to the department’s process for receiving care for exposure.

This subject is not new to BlueNC readers; it's been on our radar for over 12 years. Understand, this bill doesn't "give away" a bunch of taxpayers' dollars, it merely provides health care treatment for military and civilians recklessly exposed to toxic chemicals while working for the DoD. And big surprise: that is expensive. It's also not surprising the VA's budget has grown exponentially over the last twenty years thanks to our wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. $300 Billion and rising. But pay attention to Randall Stagner in this clip:

Gun dealer Ted Budd declares Senate run

tedbuddgun.jpg

My Trump is bigger than your Trump:

Budd announced his candidacy Wednesday morning with the launch of a website. Budd touts himself as a family man, small businessman and “liberal agenda crusher.” Budd, from Davie County, is in his third term in the U.S. House.

Earlier this month, Budd’s campaign consultant said Budd was talking with Lara Trump about their potential runs. Budd met with Donald Trump over the weekend in Florida, Politico reported.

Here's a clue, Teddy: If you find yourself traveling to Florida to decide if you should run in a North Carolina election, that cereal box compass is definitely on the fritz. To say Budd has a long way to go is a gross understatement. He hasn't reached double-digits in any polls, and trails pretty much everybody, including Mark Walker.

Fact-checking the fact-checkers

tedbudd.jpg

Stop trying to read their minds, there's nothing there:

Budd said about 9% of Biden’s stimulus plan “is actually going to COVID, meaning 91% of it is not even COVID-related.” In the first part of his statement, Budd accurately describes the proposed spending on efforts to combat the virus itself.

However, he’s wrong to suggest the rest of the bill isn’t related to COVID-19 at all. He may disagree with how much the bill would spend on unemployment insurance and other financial relief efforts. But the bill does aim to address the financial cost of the pandemic. His statement is partially accurate but leaves out important details. We rate it Half True.

Understand, the second clause of that sentence is a conclusion of what is exposed in the previous clause. The word "meaning" proves that was his intent. Yes, people can draw the wrong conclusions from a set of facts, but that's not what happened here. The fact-checkers themselves concluded that Budd meant the following:

3 Stooges blabber on about Impeachment inquiry

virginiafoxx.jpg

They're not the sharpest tools in the shed:

In a statement, U.S. Rep. Virginia Foxx, R-5th, said she was disappointed with Pelosi’s announcement of an impeachment inquiry into Trump. The 5th District includes Forsyth County and much of Northwest North Carolina.

“I cannot say I’m at all surprised,” Foxx said. “Obsession over the 2016 election results has consumed the Democratic Party and dominated (its) agenda as the House majority."

This phone call happened in Summer of 2019. And one of the reasons why Trump still thinks it's "okay" to use foreign governments to help him win elections is because people like you have done absolutely nothing to dissuade him or reign him in. In fact, you've actively opposed any investigations into what actually happened back in 2016, which proves you know what he did was wrong. Here's another idiot:
